Board Members

JIoD aims to function by example. The Board of Directors consists of the following professionals:


Mr. Laith Al Qasem

Mr. Al-Qasem’s professional experience is broad, varied and multi-disciplinary integrating technology, innovation and economic development. The foundation of his experience and competence is based on intimate practical knowledge in economic, technology and business development, venture capital financing, business incubation, and mentoring of start-ups. He served as chief of Party of the USAID funded Jordan Economic Development program (2008 – 2012). Between 1990 and 2003 he managed the Arab world’s first technology incubator and seed fund where he identified, invested in and was involved in 19 start-up companies, several of which have become paragons of success in the Jordanian technology environment.

Al-Qasem led Jordan’s first national private sector led business development initiative (Jordan Vision 2020 – JV 2020 versions 1.0 and 2.0) where he encouraged private sector leaders to look beyond Jordan’s existing economic reality and define and articulate sector development strategies, and government reforms, to create a new economic reality.

Mr. Al-Qasem is a member of the Jordan Economic and Social Council, the Jordanian National Competitiveness and Innovation Council and has led and participated in national development initiatives such as the Jordan Vision 2020, the National Agenda and the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor. Al-Qasem is a board member of several national associations and NGOs which address gaps in the economic and social environment.


Ms. Maali Khader

Executive Director and Founder of JIoD Taking a hands-on approach to the business and playing an active role in the development of strategic solutions for clients. Maali is a lawyer by profession, and her extensive experience with regional and international legal frameworks is a tremendous asset in advising on, developing and Implementing Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility principles and frameworks.

Maali works with clients to establish their CG structures and codes in adherence to legal requirements assess CG frameworks including the nomination and remuneration of directors and their performance evaluation, and structure proactive communication channels between the board of directors, management and relevant stakeholders. She has also drafted and implemented internal policies and byelaws of various sized corporations around the world and assisted incorporate restructuring and privatization.


Dr. Ahmad Attiga

Dr. Attiga’s career and experience span over 25 years in investment management, development finance, private equity, research and teaching. He recently started his new role as CEO of Arab Petroleum Investment Corporation (APICORP). Before joining APICORP he was with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group and the largest global development Institution focused on private sector in emerging markets. He was responsible for investment and advisory services activities in the Middle East, overseeing an investment portfolio of over US$2.7 Billion and an advisory program of about US$200 Million.

Dr. Attiga has served at the Board of Executive Directors of the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C as well as a Manager of a Private Equity fund for the State of Wisconsin in the United States of America. He also advised Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) on privatization and restructuring strategies. In his early career, he held a teaching and research positions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research.

Dr. Attiga is a board member of the Emirates Development Bank and has served on the Royal International Commission to evaluate Jordan’s Privatization Program. He is a Trustee of the Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans, chaired by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abduallah, and a member of the Arab Thought Forum among many other various professional affiliations.


Mrs. Lina Hundaileh

Mrs. Hundaileh has more than twenty six years of practical experience in management, business development, out of which, she has fifteen years of experience as a founder and General Manager of Philadelphia Chocolate manufacturing company. she is very active in the fields of women empowerment, leadership, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship and education.

Working in the private sector and being a board member and president of nonprofit organizations, Ms. Hundaileh was the president of injaz for 5 years. She also was a president of Young Entrepreneurs Association for 2 years, and a board member of several organizations like JEA, Royal Health Awareness Society, Jordan investors association, JE and JIoD. In addition, she works closely with the public sector and local communities, and that has provided her with rich and holistic vision and experience. Her strengths include strong interpersonal skills and an ability to learn quickly and deal effectively with complex concepts and situation, besides strong leadership, problem solving, team building, motivating and creative thinking skills.


Mr. Majied Qasem

Majied held the post of Director of the Jordan Education Initiative (JEI) through which he developed, built and advanced corporate responsibility strategies, ensuring effective engagement and building one of the most successful regional public private partnerships. He also ensured the regular engagement of over 160 entities from the private and public sectors, focusing on leveraging the core competencies of each entity to ensure a viable and valuable development partnership.

Majied is committed to the development of the Jordanian Knowledge workforce. In 2000 he was part of the group of Jordanian industry leaders that founded the Information and Technology Association of Jordan (Intaj) to drive the development of IT the sector.

In 2002 Majied helped found Injaz, a Jordanian NGO focused on youth development in Jordan. Majied served on the board of Injaz and Intaj until 2007. Currently, Majied is the executive director and co-founder of d1g.com, a leading regional portal focused on providing a range of media-rich socially enabled services.
