The Jordan Institute of Directors launches its first “Certified Board of Directors” Program.
The Jordan Institute of Directors (JIoD) launches its first “Certified Board of Directors” Program on November 26, 2012. Participants include several boards of directors from the private sector and several participants from the regulatory authorities.
This program is built on international best practices in Corporate Governance with assistance from International Finance Corporation (IFC)
The program consists of 4 parts each part containing 6 modules (total of 24 modules); in essence covering
- An introduction to the role of the board aligned with corporate governance practices,
- Practical tools for strategic guidance and managerial oversight,
- The role of the board in disclosure and transparency,
- The role of the board in protecting shareholder rights.
After attending all 4 parts, participants are granted a “Certified Board Member” certificate issued by JIoD and stamped by International Finance Corporation (IFC).
